Jakarta - The iPhone 15 range, which Apple just launched some time ago, was complained about by users who found their cellphones too hot when used.

This hot condition reportedly occurred when using certain applications such as Instagram. Other reported issues are background processing after transfer and bugs in iOS 17.

Last Thursday, Apple also released a software update for iOS 17, which addresses a number of these problems, as announced on its Support page, quoted Saturday (7/10/2023).

"This update provides important bug fixes and security updates, as well as and addresses an issue that could cause iPhone to become warmer than expected," Apple wrote.

In the update details for this patch, Apple lists two fixes aimed at iOS and iPadOS.

One is a kernel exploit for attackers with local access to the device that Apple says "may have been actively exploited against iOS versions prior to iOS 16.6."

There's also a fix for the libvpx bug, which according to CISA, allowed someone to take over a device remotely, which has also been patched recently in apps like Chrome and Firefox.

Previously, many users reported that the iPhone 15 experienced overheating or overheating. Regarding this problem, Apple has now revealed the possible reasons why this could happen.

"We have identified several conditions that can cause the iPhone to run hotter than expected. The device may feel warmer for the first few days," wrote Apple as quoted by CNET, Tuesday (3/10/2023).

Apple also added that they discovered a bug in iOS 17. This also impacted some users, but will be addressed in a software update.

This statement from Apple contradicts previous speculation. According to information circulating, the iPhone 15 is experiencing overheating due to its hardware design.

Apple stated that the titanium frame and aluminum substructure of the iPhone 15 do not contribute to this problem.

In fact, the design of this model can dissipate heat better than the stainless steel used on the previous Pro model.

Apart from bugs in iOS 17, a number of the latest versions of applications also cause overheating on the iPhone 15. Apple explains that updates to several third-party applications in iOS 17, such as Instagram, Asphalt 9, and Uber, burden the A17 Pro's CPU chip.

With this overheating problem, some users complain that they cannot hold their cellphones comfortably. It was also reported that the 15 Pro Max became hot after users used the MacBook Pro's 140W power adapter to charge it.
